Dry Malt Extract
Shelf Life: You can seal DME back up in its bag & return it to your pantry, as opposed to liquid malt extract which has a danger of contamination even if refrigerated. Remember, DME absorbs water very easily & quickly. Do not open the bag until just before use. When storing it, keep leftovers in their original bag, overwrap with a ziplock style bag & store in an airtight container in a very dry area. Otherwise, you may go back to use it & it has turned into a hard brick. When stored correctly, its shelf life is a year or more.
